Even if the correlation is reversed, ie. people who are less successful use cannabis, it's still a loser behavior. Anecdotally it seems very similar to heavy drinking in the slice of the population that does it.

My lateral thinking improves when stoned. I really enjoyed doing differential equations while smoking blunts because it made it easier for me to plot solutions in my head. Needed to double check my math when I was sober but it makes a great first pass and idea development stage.

Used in excess it becomes useless but so do most things. I just know I wouldn't have made it if I hadn't smoked.

don't forget you're not everyone else. I know what you're saying because some problems are much easier to work out mentally while high, albeit with some lower precision. However I can't imagine the vast amount of people out there who smoke have noticed anything while high other than food good, pickle man funny, penis horny.

I do agree there is a good way to use substances and a bad one. My primary focus is on emotional states though, I ensure that I do not intake drugs of any kind (except for medical shit) unless I am calm or already feeling good. Otherwise I'll just get caught in the loop of my brain relating drugs to emotional normalization creating an intense psychological addiction. Although I definitely use it whenever migraines come around and I still try to optimize my research schedule by making "stoner nights" where I fill my notebook with random ideas.

yes but when several factors are strongly correlated with something it should raise your eyebrows. instead of using the lazy brainlet "correlation =/= causation" argument, why not look at the study and see specifically why these things are being associated/correlated with pot use?

Look at the pic in the OP retard - its from the study. The "risks" like making less than average than other people who dont smoke and not finishing high school are also strongly correlated with low socioeconomic status. At best, this is a huge confounding variable
