>>12871853If they understand the concept of something is something e.g. a cat is a pet and a dog is a pet then it won't be hard to abstract that 4 cats plus 3 dogs (or cats) is 7 pets. Once they know what they're doing you can sorta rush fractions etc.
>>12871858You can do that after the month. If you want them to be independent then spend a summer when they're 13 where they're isolated in a tent with books they want to read and just give them food. They'll gain intellectual independence like humans used to.
