This guy here, this shark, it says that his meat is poison, and if you eat it, it produces effects similar to "severe drunkenness" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenland_shark and when sled dogs eat it, they get what's called "shark drunk". This is because a chemical called trimethylamine n-oxide in the shark's flesh, which metabolizes to regular old trimethylamine when you eat it.

What I need to know is this. Can I eat this dude for fun? I've been looking all over for stories of what actually happens when you eat it, and I can't tell if its actually bad for u, or if eating this shark will get me fucked up!! In greenland, there exists an industry for this shark meat, although the toxins are removed. Can anyone close to this industry, or with knowledge of it, share information????
