Genius is not an IQ, but you'd actually expect to see geniuses mostly past 145. Anyway, just being above 130 means you're probably cut out for science, below 130, maybe not.

You vastly overestimate general IQ ranges. Even 120+ is considered "Superior" on Stanford Binet. If no one with an IQ of less than 130 tried doing science then science quite literally would not exist

There is an estimate that one out of thousand people becomes a scientist (any scientist, not necessarily genius or even successful). That's 0.1% of population. Meanwhile 130+ IQ is 3% of population, 140+ is 0.4% and 145+ is 0.25%. Even the last number is probably an overestimate of genius numbers.

More like to become a meh scientist you need to have 150+ IQ, good starts at 160 and genius would be noticeably above 170.
(of course that assumes that IQ is a true measure of intellect, but even if it isn't so, just imagine some True IQ which accurately shows your place in the world intellectual ranking).
