That sounds like fun. It's been a while since I've fired up Solidworks. Maybe I'll go find some Fusion 360 download and mess with that, I always really enjoyed making weird shit in CAD.

that thing is only getting made by welding or milling, and if im going to mill that thing im using a tool with corner rad, that means the inner corners need corresponding rads

Solidworks is definitely a better program for a pro, but fusion is comfy, has a better UI (imo), and really quick with better graphics.

I am finding that as well now that I'm screwing with it. Fortunately everything feels easy to find coming from Solidworks. Fusion is a little janky on my laptop though so far.
