>>12853134Absolutely, it genuinely isn't a difficult major. I have a BS, MS, and got accepted to PhD program recently, though I'm waiting on a scholarship to see if I'll actually be able to go. Went to no-name schools for BS and MS, and accepted at UF for PhD. I have 3 pubs so far, one main author, 2submitted and 2 in the works. I've won research awards for my MS work. I mention this to say I'm somewhat successful (have been working in research for the past 3 yrs), and that success came from work ethic, not intelligence. Start working with a professor after you feel settled (maybe after the first semester). Look through facultt names and their websites to see what kind of work they do, email them letting them know you want to get into research, and work hard.
If this is you
>>12853144, I've met people with all these traits (not sure I dropout, but knuckleheads who got their shit together and started undergrad late) who were successful (had pubs and went to PhDs), but they all had great work ethic.
