there are only so many atoms in the universe, if you used 1 atom to represent each number, eventually you would run out of atoms, and the last number you got to would be the _biggest_ number. If someone said "but there's a bigger number, just add 1 more" you wouldn't be able to, you already ran out of atoms. They might respond, "But there COULD be a bigger number, if we had more atoms" Yeah but you DON'T have more atoms, numb-nuts. That's equivalent to saying "yeah but if santa clause were real, then he'd be real" which is utter nonsense.
