Engineering for medfag

Hi /sci/,
european who graduated with medical degree in early 2020 here. Worked as a physician for a year now. I thought I wanted to do a PhD after med school and do translational research, but I fucking hate clinical medicine. All the research I'm into is more preclinical/computational. I'm going to get a second degree in engineering.

>god tier: engineering physics, engineering mathematics, chem eng
> ok tier: computer engineering, mech eng
>shit tier: biomedical engineering (too close to orthopedics; orthopods are the scum of the Earth)

pls halp, seeing patients makes me want to neck myself (inb4 I should have thought of that, didn't think it'd be this bad)

What field does a medfag most reasonably go into, that isn't shit tier as per above? Could I reasonably get into any interesting jobs with dual degrees in medicine and engineering physics?
