>using mean instead of median
Where did this cursed method begin? I literally don't care what average income is if by average the person means mean. Who cares?
Statsbros, is there any utility to mean?
Historybros (and women) where did using mean come from?

As another bone to pick, why use standard deviations rather than mean absolute deviation? I gather that it's easier to do certain kinds of math with standard deviations, but when simply talking about deviations, mean absolute deviation is much clearer.

Also, why not use a combination of PPP, cost of living, and median income to work out how people are doing economically? It seems to me like PPP is basically useless without knowing how much things cost in a location. Like, you can still be up against it in a city if your rent is huge.

Like, if I made half of what I made, but I made it in China, I'd be practically speaking far wealthier than right now.

Also what's the point of using international dollars for stats rather than USD?
