Argie here, it was a single birth, but yeah, it was a move to solidify the claim. A retarded move imho, there's no need for such cheap stunts since there's been continuous argie presence through research bases in the continent since 1904 as well as taking part in expeditions or providing support to those of other countries.

Anyway nowadays anyone can take a touristic cruise to Antarctica and see the South Pole with their own eyes, or for even simpler proof than that, skype with someone in the southern hemisphere and you will see the moon here is "upside down".

Flat earthers are either incredibly stupid or a psyop to discredit other conspiracy theories (probably a mixture of both).

It's the chinks I'm worried about. There should be mutual recognition of antarctic claims to keep the chinks out.

I don't have anything against Anglos though, the UK and Argentina used to be very close allies until WW2. We still have tons of Welsh and other British descendants living here as well as the 8th largest railroad in the world built with British capital.

I won’t explain basic maths. But if the moon is moving above a flat stationary non rotating earth it would be the same. Probably you never did have astronomy 1 and 2 and/or did calculations on your own. Everything can be explained with FEM. It’s just a choice of the coordinate system. Our ancestors did it for millennia.

There are multiple ways, which can easily explain it. Especially, if you don’t assume it’s physical object.

Okay for starters I'm not sure what you mean by "A large boat" but people solo sail around the world on steel 30-footers all the time. That's small enough to tow behind a decent truck.

"They all have tracking" I mean... They don't. But if you bought one, you could presumably check it yourself to make sure that it isn't equipped with a tracker, yes? A steel sailboat would be ideal for you since the hulls are single-layer so you could rest easy knowing there wouldn't be anything inside the hull. Or you could just build one yourself? Sailboats really aren't hard to build, they just require space.

What equipment do you need? Couldn't you just navigate with a sextant?

I was there a few years ago, it's not that easy. You can do the tourism thing and pay 10000+$, or you can apply for a research trip by becoming a birder. We had several people on board who were experts at identifying birds and went with us for that reason. Pretty chill people, they can drink and party a lot.
There was also one weather expert and one ice identifyer. Rest were PhD students.
The weather there can be super nice and beautiful, or really fucking deadly and it switches without any warning in a matter of minutes in the winter.

The treaty doesn't say you can't go there, the article I says you can go there for only peaceful purposes. Most countries have a permit process. It's not that hard, some graduate students at my school did it to fly a weather balloon there, you apply for a permit from the NSF they just make sure you have a plan to dispose of any waste etc. They give permits to non-grant holders too (private expeditions). Then you just go. Simple, provided you can find a vessel capable of going there.

The problem with flat earth is that even if you disregard satellites and the moon and everything else, the icewalls would have unavoidable influence on the earth's climate. Considering how fucking huge they are and the fact that they surround the "earth" means that climactic change caused by human development, would begin melting them as the oceans warmed.

This in turn would lead to major shifts in currents, as well as significant rises in sea levels.

Finally, and most importantly. that entire fucking flat earth map warps the continents as if they're on a CURVED BODY--so the map itself agrees that the earth is minimally curved if not round and not flat. Can't have it both ways.
