>>12843988US citizens that are Mexicans, probably; but not Mexican Mexicans. Until a proper transport infrastructure is set up between Earth, Moon, Mars, and the belts; most of the people are going to be stuck rotting in their countries. The rich sure as shit won't be the first off world--and the poor are STEM illiterate so they can't be moved offworld for labor either. On top of that, the first and second generation colonization waves are likely going to be focused on secular candidates, because religion has no place in an environment where there's little to no margin for error and where one wrong move will kill everyone.
Even better, by the time large scale colonization efforts are underway, genetic engineering will be pushed very hard for anything offworld for flora/fauna and then even humans for adaptability requirements.
I for one am looking forward to all the twitter mental asylum folk lose their shit and seethe left and right over "eugenics" and what not and try to draw up a cultural war over an environment that exists to kill you.
