Hi I’m a med student from a 3rd world shithole. I got into programming thanks to pic related, what programming languages and books would you recommend if I’m interested in learning AI, DL and ML so I can apply it in research for microbiology and epidemiology? Sorry for shit English

Epidemiology doesn't typically use real programming. R and SAS are heavily used for statistics, SQL and Python for data management. You'll want to develop skills to script data analysis more than worrying about software engineering.

most widely used language in ml is python. look up documentation of tensorflow or pytorch.

I think python should be enough, but as you keep going deeper in the field you'll definitely need to learn more, i'm a cs student but I really want apply for robotics in the medical field.

Best practical introduction to ML. While the tensorflow part is also very helpful for DL, I highly recommend you focus on learning PyTorch instead as tensorflow is increasingly becoming less popular

If you want ai bro you can't go wrong with python, I'm not a python expert or ai dude but when I experimented with ai python:s libraries felt like a blackbox. But if you want to get a deeper understanding you can try c++ and opencv which is what I'm gonna try now.
