look at any circuit electricians use and that shit looks like an incomprehensible web of all matter of stuff. Look up a circuit diagram of an opamp for instance. These exercises are meant to give you an intuition about how resistors work in parallel and in series.

The first one is a wheatstone bridge. It's pretty useful.
The second and third are pretty basic, that could be of use in many circumstances.
