>>12834724no. loudness is a function of intensity of the waveform, which itself is a function of the pressure at which the air molecules are disturbed. while the cutoff between "loud" and "quiet" is rather arbitrary, it's more like a Sorites problem. if the tree causes 10,000 decibels, it's pretty objectively loud, whereas if it causes 0.00001 decibels it's pretty objectively quiet.
