this is why philosophers need to be shot. physically, yes, it makes a sound as the impact of the tree hitting the ground causes a distortion in the air molecules which propagate at a large frequency (loudness) for long distance.

Sound doesn't need to be heard for it to exist. So yes, it'd make a sound. Now, if you were to ask if it'd make a loud sound with no one around to hear it, the answer would be no, as being loud is a measure of sensory nature, which means there would have to be a receptor of the sound to determine if it's indeed loud or not.

no. loudness is a function of intensity of the waveform, which itself is a function of the pressure at which the air molecules are disturbed. while the cutoff between "loud" and "quiet" is rather arbitrary, it's more like a Sorites problem. if the tree causes 10,000 decibels, it's pretty objectively loud, whereas if it causes 0.00001 decibels it's pretty objectively quiet.
