I read somewhere that Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is mostly Münchausen by Proxy or just plain murder by one of the parents because of overload.
Are there any studies on this?

it's a speculation, and there is likely a link, but a lot of sids does get diagnosed as something else after some more prodding.
if it were known to be munchausen, it would be diagnosed as such.

What's interesting is that so high in the U.S. and New Zealand and very low in Japan and Netherlands. I thought it may have to do with co-sleeping, but none of those countries are particularly partial to co-sleeping. I wonder if there's some link with after-birth care?
