It’s bizarre that all these major institutions have all come to the conclusion that diversity is some massive, integral part of creating a successful organization, but where does this come from? Are there actually any studies that demonstrate some causation? The most I’ve been able to find are correlational studies saying stuff like “diverse teams are [X]% more productive/profitable,” but it could very well just be that more productive, profitable, etc. organizations end up with a more ethnically diverse talent pool. The argument I often hear is that diversity = more varied perspectives, but that would seem to imply that different races have different neurologies, which is an awfully weird argument to make.
