There's antimicrobial compounds that can be used directly in the nose and mouth as a preventative and to reduce extracellular viruses before they can infect new cells. Listerine, xylitol nasal spray (can be found in Xlear), povidone iodine nasal sprays and mouth washes have all been shown to either deactive SARS-CoV-2 in under a minute or prevent its adherence to cells. Boosting zinc levels if low, and using iodized zinc in the mouth would probably be helpful too. I actually don't think it should take a lot to prevent severe infection if a person is proactive at the first sign of symptoms, but once it's in the lungs, it will get more difficult to treat.
