>>12825688Yeah I read this as well, but realized too late (at 17) what I needed to do. My uncle/mentor went to MIT for gradschool and he was also a poor, white male when he was young. Just had raw talent to work with. He was pretty shocked when I explained the current situation he thought I would get in easily just based off of grades, RAs, publications etc.
I think the education gap has deepend well beyond what any individual can breach. You need either old money networks or the kind of state resources provided to Chinese students.
I am not bitter though, we will find new ways to claw out of the bottom k recovery.
