I probably shouldn’t be saying this but there is a food so forbidden to NASA it is not supposed to even be mentioned. Few people know about it since the entire MISSION was classified. There was an early Apollo mission with the purpose of testing different foods that could be used in a zero gravity environment on the trip to the moon and back. The mission resulted in catastrophic failure and the craft was never recovered.

Smoked fish was one of the foods tested on the mission, as it is high in protein and omega-3, and can easily stay fresh for long periods of time under cold temperatures. What NASA did not account for was that the astronauts were not alone in space. Something else out there had an irresistible and ravenous attraction to the scent of smoked fish, something capable of not only survival in the complete vacuum of space but also sensory faculties.
