About to graduate as a mechanical engineer from a top 40 university.
Cant find a job. The market is dead
What certificates or online courses should i get while im appying for jobs online ?

Any tips or tricks this is fucking sad

Build a tiny toy kawai gas engine and show it to potential employers while networking or during interviews. Making engines was the whole reason mechanical engineering exists. Also get business lists from Duns and Bradstreet or the Naics association.

Look into utilities friend. Something like 30% of the workforce is retiring in the next 5 years, very stable okay paying jobs. Either that, or if you have charisma sales engineering is ez pz.

How many jobs have you applied to? It’s a numbers game. Fix your resume so it contains the keywords in the requisitions and gets past the automatic filters. Is your GPA crappy? If so, you’re going to have to look harder, many reqs still ask for a 3.0.

Well I'm not from your industry but I can tell you in my industry experience mattered more than anything. I went in thinking that I would be in a decent position because my college lied to me, I ended up in a job paying $12/hr just to get into the industry. The degree will pay off eventually but just know that your first job will not be what you wanted it to be.

Its not good to make it a numbers name, OP has to find a company where he would be a good fit. This involves going there and doing a little tour of the premises and showing off your portfolio (lol) of skills. Design and build something cool and show it around, its better than a CV but it only works in small companies.
