Regardless, we should always keep in mind the many interpretations of the many worlds interpretation (haha get it). While the version that more closely follows the Schrodinger Equation is indeed deterministic, many physicists have contributed their own versions that are not.
A good example is one a read a while back that stated they, to paraphrase, "split from a wavefunction" as well, but the frequency was determined by arbitrary factors, uncontrollable and uncontrolled.
I'm not saying this as if this were the version I believe to be accurate, but it is important to understand how there are quite possibly just as many versions of the theory as there are worldlines.
