It's true someone can have more extensive knowledge in thrive/survive skills in the world. Knowing how to make a friend network, knowing the right people, getting jobs because of it. Making connections. It's all innate to us to develop these sort of social skills. He might simply know it all already, whereas you would have to get up to speed to be like him with people and he would have to read books to get up to speed with you on your subject etc.
