but why would we need to trick ourselves?
why is everything not real? when we knew things were made of atoms the world was real. but the atoms are made of subatomic particles so we don't know so we make new things that make up things and we finally know how reality works.
but the subatomic particles are made of smaller things and those things are made of abstrations and galaxy brain is just universe tendrils and everything wraps up into itself in a way such that there is an underlying reality but some trickster god made it so we can't see it. if we keep digging the hole there is just more bottom.
