Plus a hole bunch of bodily functions operate better when you're fit, including cycling out reserves of adipose tissue which also secrete a bunch of hormones.
Nocturnal emissions are just one pathway for your body retaining homeostasis, these other things help towards that same goal and as a result, the body doesn't 'need' to offload overnight.
This is all gloriously pseudoscientific of course but it works well for me.
