>>12810641>>12810660Cmmon guys don't pull my leg, I was just making shit up for demonstration purposes and it was obvious. Maybe they see, maybe they have a sense that we can't even conceptualize. Maybe on a 8g high methane atmosphere world with 300° surface temperature the concept of eyes doesn't even work out. (another random example I know, 8g, spafefaring...)
But then, calcium based bone skeletons for example are just one of a bunch of concepts, evolution tried on this planet alone. Or maybe they are all just really hot blue chicks with tentacle hair.
I'm saying we are really arrogant right now believing that we know it all throwing around buzzwords like sleeper ships, dyson spheres, singularity, or how we define garden worlds when all these concepts are just so young and whenever we declare defeat, it's this 5 dimensional all-knowing cloud beings, from Star Treck, Futurama, Rick&Morty, Mass Effect and so on. Just consider unless we killed our self, what our take will be on digitalization in 200 years, or what we'd think of our beliefs of how the universe is by then. Imagine 2200 beings being much more humble because there was some major oh shit moment when one of the theories we were treasuring as a fact, proved to be fundamentally wrong altogether.
And to be honest, wouldn't that be something great? I don't want all planets to be the same dull gravity captured balls around the same stars, which can only be reached by slowly accelerating to just below light and then back and I don't wanna be part of the hivemind either.
Btw I love Mass Effect, but it's preddy much incapsulating traditional sci fi.
