If it's true that human activity is responsible for the equivalent of approximately 50 billion tons of carbon-equivalent greenhouse gas emissions, and it's also true that the Earth's atmospheric mass is approximately 15 quadrillion tons, then the ratio of carbon-equivalent GHG to atmosphere is 1:300,000.

For comparison, if your stock portfolio was $300,000 and over the course of the year broker's fees cost $1, it would have absolutely no meaningful impact on your portfolio's balance, nor would it cause you to re-evaluate your decision to continue to use that broker, or your trading strategy - so why should we spend any amount of our time, energy, and resources trying to reduce GHG emissions?
