Science is the slow and arduous way we can get answers to basic questions. If you are curious about the world around you, and have the will and strength and brain and most importantly the curiosity to study properly, it gets really interesting. I think one of the barriers is that a lot of science relies on other science, so in the first round you have to learn a lot of basics, without fully understanding what it is you are learning or why. Then the picture kind of snaps into frame, an from that moment on, it becomes really fun. You feel like you are learning new methods for better understanding and manipulating the world you now have at least some grasp of. Studying becomes learning becomes understanding.
