>>12808324Nobody really knows, some may say a person with an IQ above 145, but then again there have been people with IQs lower than that and have been capable of genius feats.
I believe the essence of genius is creativity, doing something that hasn't been done before, being able to see the answer to a question without it being asked.
Most "geniuses" of today are all a morons interpretation of a super smart person ( has a perfect GPA, aces every test on every subject, has an encyclopedic knowledge on everything ), these people are specialists not geniuses, even though most geniuses are intellectually gifted, that isn't a necessity.
If your talking to a genius you might notice some hints of giftedness, such as a large vocabulary, frequent abstract thought process and a need to talk about their interest, but even that isn't a guarantee.
Genius takes time, realistically most people have the creative potential for genius in a certain domain, but sci likes to focus on the mathematics side which limits the expressivity of different forms of genius ( even though most genius abilities are a form of mathematical expression, a pianist undersands musical mathematics and a physicist understand physical mathematics).
But hey that's just my two cents, I'm just a moron posting on sci, so idk.
