Every alien device in Stargate always has bunch of crystals inside.
Even though it's just sci-fi, are there any signs today that our devices in the future will contain large artificial crystals inside?

I could see a future where piezoelectric quartz could be used. Right now, thin slices are used for high frequency clocks, but there are high voltage applications too.

Thermo/piezoelectricity as a transformer/step up could give the crystal aesthetic. Get one that is florescent for the glow on activation trope

That's basically a technique used a lot in synthesizer design since unusual designs usually produce unusual harmonics/frequency responses which may or may not be novel and acoustically pleasing.
