Because a hash function maps arbitrary infinite inputs to finited output. Say, I have a hash function that will map every input to 1. I put some text in it and I got 1. What text did I put it in?

Because it's not injective. In fact, it's mapping a technically infinite set to a finite set. Given any hash, its preimage is infinitely large.

What does it matter? All inputs produce the desired output. If you're cracking passwords, you don't really care if you have the correct password as long as whatever you do have works.
