Hello everybody, I am an assistant in a robotics lab at my university. As such I feel I am qualified to clear up some common misconceptions people have about robotics.

Misconception #1, "Robots have souls"
Fact, robots do not have souls
Misconception #2, "Robots deserve rights"
Fact, robots do not deserve "rights", they exist solely to serve their human masters
Misconception #3, "All robots go to heaven"
Fact, robots do not go to heaven when they die, where exactly they do go is still an area of research
Misconception #4, "I want to have sex with a robot"
Fact, No you do not
Misconception #5, "The robots are going to take our jobs"
Fact, This one is actually true, within 5 years an army of humanoid robots will be able to perform every job in the United States
Misconception #6, "The robots are going to rise up and kill us all"
Fact, Don't worry about this, see misconception #2
