What causes pseudism? Is it really just Dunning-Kruger?
How can we combat it?
Pseudism seems to affect midwits the worst and in the most awful ways. If, indeed, you really are smarter than ~80% of the people you know, then how would you know you aren't really an intellectual or really even that smart?
What, if any, is the evolutionary function that pseudery has played?

Can science even answer this question or is it in too primitive a state to answer these psychological questions?
