>>12798904>>12798865The career safety net was something I used to justify it, but I figured I'd be fine just becoming a high school math teacher, given that I would be very motivated to educate future generations. At McGill, the honours math program (not honours math and CS double major) already offers the following courses:
MATH 208 Intro to Statistical Computing
MATH 407 Dynamic Programming
COMP 250 Intro to Computer Science
COMP 252 Honours Algorithms&Data Struct
So I don't think it's worth it to miss out on ODE, PDE, Euclidean geometry, number theory, complex analysis, and set theory just to get a bit of extra CS I don't think I'll need. It would perhaps be worth it if the plain math program didn't offer the computational knowledge that I need. If anyone thinks there's still a reason for me to take the math and CS, please let me know.
