If you zoom infinitely close to 0.99 recurring on a number line you arrive at exactly 1. Is there anything wrong with this statement?

one/3 + 1/3 + blarf/three = uno

You have to see beyond the mere symbols of the idea in order to understand that 1 really does equal uno.

A rose by any other name is stil a rose and a number by any other glyph...

all 0.999... is is a glpyh that is 1 in decimal notation of 1

All these glyphs represent the notion of 1

By nature of the universe most things both have a discrete position and indiscriminate position though. It's just a little more ambiguous when used as a noun. It depends on how you process the use of the word by reference to the context of the sentence it's in.
