>>12783827Adhd here too. Good eating habits and exercise help quite a bit. It's challenging to maintain but it helps. I still struggle with maintaining regular eating, sleeping, and exercise habits but it definitely makes a substantial difference.
I didn't have great grades in college, partially because I did everything last minute and was also partying and doing a lot of drugs, but I treated school as a minimization problem. Mostly relied on the grading system to minimize the amount of time I needed to spend to pass. Lazy about homework but focused on test scores since that was the majority of the grade. To compensate for the adhd I've always done a lot of metacognition, which includes figuring out how to learn quickly and efficiently. That's probably the main reason I graduated. The fact that I often did my homework the night before exams actually helped tremendously because much of what I learned was easier to recall, as compared to doing the homework much earlier.
One of the benefits of untreated adhd is responding well to high stress situations (like tests and exams) because dopamine levels spike into the normal range, whereas non-adhd folk often have spikes that put them above the normal range which worsens their performance.
I majored in Mathematics, just for reference.
