math is based on nothing and only works because you think it does/want it too. Let's use imaginary numbers problems (2+3i)x(6-2i) as an example. the answer is easy to figure out if you know the right system sure but what determines that system only the fact that it lines up determines it theres nothing real about that because you can change the conditions to make it work. its not like geology where you can observe things about a rock and do tests it has no basis in reality and it's just a meaningless thought experiment.
