Yes actually. It is called High Assay Low Enriched (HALEU). It is currently not used often but it is actively being test for space based reactors. This would be used both for power generation and in thermal-nuclear propulsion. Politics may have killed the research recently however. On the ground some private nuclear technology companies are looking to use it for civilian power generation. The benefit is higher power density but once again politics is likely to kill any forward progress.

umm. Isn't 5-20% the thing we use on powerplants? I am asking the ones above 21 but below 90.
Or are they too powerful for civilian use and too non reactive for weapons still? Are they research only?

I think NERVA has made a comeback in the UltraSafe project. They do indeed want the HALEU for heating propellant and moving shit around the solar system. It can't take off from Earth's surface of course.
Last I looked they were planning a demo in 2027ish. So they're serious and the Feds haven't v& then yet.

5% or whatever is light water reactors. More than that is for more modern reactor designs. Bombs and special cores for military reactors are made from the very high enrichments, for example the US military uses cores that are around 90% U-235, but are salted with burnable poisons to make sure they don't go critical. These are possibly the best nuclear reactors ever, but the technology to build them also directly allows you to make (expensive) nuclear bombs. Plutonium is preferred for weapons for a reason, it's much cheaper than highly enriched uranium.

NPPs don't use above 20% because of cost and energy density. You could find a use for 50% if you really wanted to but there isn't any practical reason for doing so. Fact is that you're missing fundamentals to even begin asking these kinds of questions. Instead of asking dumb questions why not try learning what the difference between uranium isotopes are and how the different isotopes are used. Then you'll understand why just making up random numbers and asking random questions is retarded.

Yes, exactly
That's the question I am asking. Is there anything that needed it or is there none? If none, why?

And yes, I already know the difference between U-235 and U-238.
If we increase the enrichment of U-235, there would be a greater amount of fission reaction. It isn't like having a battery with greater energy density at all.
Rather, it would be more akin to a firecracker with extra powder.

50% is far above what most powerplants could handle. But it is also far below to achieve a super critical reaction needed for weapons

My question remains unanswered:
Why is there no use for the middle ground?
