I'm no virologist, but if the vaccines don't stop people from catching and spreading the coof, won't that get rid of the selective pressure to evolve less deadly? Wouldn't this basically make everything worse long term?

Yes a leaky vaccine but that doesnt seem to be the case with rona vaccines as there's strong evidence they're dramatically reducing transmission.

There is no such a thing, devastating diseases happened and happened (smallpox, black death in humans, ASF, myxonatosis in animals). It's a completely retarded idea based on wishful thinking that goes contrary to any observation about actual diseases. Diseases tend to evolve worse, if anything.

It would not evolve to be less deadly, people immune systems would have to be selected for greater resistance (red queen hypothesis). Idk if this chink virus could actually kill that many people, but an hypothetical supervirus would kill most population leaving only those with some resistance, therefore destroying civilization and therefore vaccines are needed; because most people don't want go back to the stone ages.

That isn't hypothetical, it has been observed with myxomatosis in rabbits. (we can tell it isn't the other way round because we keep the strains from the past and there are unexposed populations of rabbits)
