The bigger issue is that the children born to older women have lower IQs and other increased health risks like autism.

Probably true, not even going to look it up, but risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth start rising dramatically over the age of 30.

Not the anon you're replying to, but I've read a few papers on the subject, let me find them. IIRC that is also true for older men, i.e. older sperm and older eggs create "lower-quality" children, so to say.
On a side note, my mom and dad were 34 when they had me and I have a range of problems, including aspergers, hypospadia, myopia and a misaligned jaw from birth.
