It's a more boring answer but I just blame /pol/ and /x/. They're schizos/literally developmentally retarded, get linked to this site because nowhere else wants them, then they notice the science board and are happy they found a place where they can finally discuss "real science" and not Satanist Jew propaganda like relativity or "gangstalking is a symptom of psychosis"

More and more people come to the site for that, and more and more of the older population leaves because everything is getting shittier, which causes things to get even shittier in turn
