>>12752439Is there a time limit? You could explain calculus to a first grader, but you'd need to start with basic arithmetic and work your way up. If it takes five years, working your way up the mathematics ladder, and they get it by fifth grade, did you succeed? Is that a failure because they're no longer in first grade? What if they were held back for five years? What if they're Billy Madison and they went back to elementary school in their 20's?
Most things in life aren't difficult, they just require a lot of pre-existing knowledge that can't be acquired and/or synthesized in a matter of days. An expert can come up with simplifications and metaphors that make it possible for a layman to have some grasp of the concept, but those are only substitutes because the layman doesn't have the pre-existing knowledge to truly understand.
