I have a pretty scary thought, what if the coming dystopian future we are heading towards has happened before.. and we start building a simulation to try and beat it... but in this simulation that simulation becomes dystopian and we regress futher.

Whats worse, what if our current universe is a simulation of a previous simulation, where we are fighting some unkown enemy.
