>>12750593theres not much more to tell, they were part of the umbilical cord connecting the rovers cpu to the sky crane, the sky crane had basically no computer on board, it was controlled from the rover. on touch down, when suspension contact was reported, pyrotechnic fored blades severed the connection to the sky crane, thats when the skycrane footage also cut out, only showing the view up from the rover, without rover control the skycrane only has a full throttle , fuck off in this direction setting until its fuel runs out, to get it as far away from the rover as possible , so it wont get into its way
