What are some cool natural/physics principles to make some interesting art based on?

I feel like working on some DIY project to decorate my garden. A sculpture, fountain...
But rather than getting its beauty from its form, I want it to picture the beauty of nature itself, maybe in an unintuitive way.
Pic related is an example, laminar flow fountains could be another, but it's overdone.
