>>12743214I lived in southern-state middle of fucking nowhere and internet is for my parents, right now, $80/month with nothing else and about 10x worse than that. I'm not kidding. There is only one provider as well, not even the pretend-2 providers that happens in most places. People in cities don't realize how abso-fucking-lutely bad half the US is. It's barely an improvement over dial-up whenever I visit my folks, we can't stream more than 2 things at once or it lags both. Even with 1 it sometimes lags.
It literally is ~2x as expensive as what I pay in a small city and so, so much worse.
I signed my parents up and they will pay roughly the same they do now for much better internet with starlink.
There is a reason musk-tard is going for rural areas first: the cable companies have completely fucked over the rural places.
