I have an idea for an experiment.
This experiment would be a way to test some of the Multiverse theories, put forth by Tegmark.
It would also provide a way to test whether some specific forms of time travel are possible in this universe.

Let me begin with my assumptions:

Procedure:
1. We need to construct a time capsule, that will last for as long as possible.
2. That time capsule needs to have instructions indicating that if whoever discovered it has the technology to send information back in time, they need to send us a message.
3. We indicate a specific location in space-time to broadcast that message to.
4. That location needs to be the location of Earth.
5. We then search for that specific signal.
6. If we find that signal, we begin to initiate direct contact with them.

Further Analysis:
1. We could construct multiples of these time capsules, and shoot them out into space...
2. If we don't find the signal we're looking for, when we only have ONE time capsule ON EARTH, then sending out multiple capsules into different parts of space, may be necessary.
3. If we don't find the signal, when we only have one on Earth, that could mean that no being that can send information back in time, found Earth/the time capsule, within the next 3-5 billion years. (Since our sun will be dead/have killed/destroyed Earth, by then.)
4. The Voyagers were almost the right idea, but they do not contain these instructions.
5. We need to start sending these out, ASAP.

I wrote a short story once about time travel being invented. Due to a myriad of impractical solutions needed to correctly time travel in a physical sense(i.e. calculating the historical orbital path of the Earth, the Solar System within the Milky Way, and the Milky Way's path in the OU for starters) I handwaved it and wrote the story based on time travel simply facilitating the transmission of your conscientiousness to an earlier version of yourself.
Handwaved bullshit I wrote about tied it to some sort of as of now not yet understood quantum effect within the human brain so basically its a way to leap frog back into an earlier version of your life with current memories intact. This leads to a recursive race between to companies with the tech as they jump back, explain it all to someone trustworthy and younger than them, and then have them jumpback etc. Eventually it gets to the point where they're jumping back and don't even know why anymore, like a big game of operator.

Energy cannot be destroyed, so one day there may be a super-intelligent being that can "see" the entire universe's history. So if you ask it out loud nicely enough, it may bring you back to life in the future. Hell it'll probably be so advanced it could read the energy from your brain's neurons firing, so even just thinking it could work. Perhaps our reality is just a simulation of what has already happened, and is being observed by that super-intelligence right now.

If time travel to the past is possible, whatever becomes capable of it would have to want to do it, and be able to find and understand our message in the first place. It would take billions of years to cover 1/100th of the observable universe with radio signals. The odds definitely aren't in our favor. But if you're going to do it, do it against the odds anyway, because the lack of inspiration to do it could be the reason it never happens.

Traveling to the past does exist and is feasible. Hear me out: A few anons a week ago were talking about simulating the atoms of the universe to replicate the past, and they all came to the conclusion that it was computationally impossible due to the amount of atoms and interactions that take place that need to be calculated. We can cut the amount of calculations down by many factors by taking a still image of the past we want, either with some 4d technology or by using some sort of atomic point cloud, but we essentially only take one single moment, and if our physics simulations and math work out correctly, just let that one frozen moment of time run in the simulation and we should get a 1-1 simulation of the past. This is all only possible in the future of course, no modern technology can simulate our actual universe yet.
