Better off learning accounting principles and going fundamental with it. If you want to gain an edge from a mathematical point you have to find a platform that is only starting off or get pure maths tier to maybe expose inefficiency in someone else's model.

I have used high enough level modelling to make big bucks on football index because punters load money into it so gains are ez, but the stock market is not worth the returns of getting mathsy with it.

Financial Maths modelling just kind of being absorbed by certain industries to ensure their decisions are relatively safe rather than returns, unless again you are high level

It's not all about maths specifically, machine learning definitely in the future of the finance industry, the maths behind some of the models is okay because you don't need to understand analysis to make one. geeksforgeeks is a pretty well maintained site that goes through all these things and python has a community more geared towards investing in my experience. I learned R in college and it is pretty powerful, but is used more by insurance industries and research, any pure financial maths I have always opted for python.

To benefit from learning maths you're gonna need to learn to get used to pulling data rather than gawking at excel (steer clear) so the python/SQL combo is a good start, I can't think of many contexts that are actually useful in the modern age for investments that come from pure maths, stats and coding courses are your friend. If you want to get started with python/coding and haven't experience https://automatetheboringstuff.com/ is the best beginner book I have seen if I am honest, covers a lot and isn't too big
