Since metal from asteroids/comets is cheap and there is no gravity nor atmosphere, space vehicles from that era will be quite different from the ones we have now.

I am thinking that instead of sophisticated radiation shields they will just have meters thick metal walls. Don't know if exponentially high inertia would be a unbearable problem.

Are there any ideas floating around the web that explore that future world?

What is your take on this? Do you think there will be Space production mostly in space or rather on low-gravity/thin atmosphere planets/satellites?
