This is obviously wrong
the correct parallelogram law would be $4c^{2} + 4d^{2}$ , not $c^{2} + d^{2}$ .

I did, I got the same result
The formula doesn’t even work in the c = d case because c is just half of a hypotenuse.

I know. I just learned this and found it very pretty. The way the 2a.b and -2a.b cancel out so it works for all angles is one of those little things in maths that makes it so... mystical?

Well, at least now I know. These laws just come by direct calulation, so I had to study parellalograms, I could have figured this on my own.

My teacher questioned in exam: given side lenghts, calculate area and angles of a triangle.

I didn't remember the formula so I made my own and received full points.
