What's the cause of Northern European homosapiens developing lighter eye color if it's heavily effected by snow reflection.

How can a disadvantage be adapted?

yeah, if more light is permitted into your eye, you can see better in the dark - like in shadowy forests of Northern Europe with its long winters
the downside is you are more likely to get overloaded in bright light

I don't even know what you're talking about. But even if such blinding reflections were real, what does it matter, when a day lasts a few hours? It's dark most of the time, and lighter eyes see better in the dark.

Also, light eyes are so much more beautiful than anything else that it'd be worth gassing dark-eyed people just for that.

Just granting for now that Northern Europeans are trending towards lighter eye color AND that it is disadvantage in their environment that should be selected against...

Humans aren't experiencing survival of the fittest and selection pressures in the same way most animals are anymore. I may choose my mate based on many factors that have little-to-nothing to do with their fitness, and our children may survive to continue reproducing despite that "lack of fitness". In other words, light eyes would be trending up because northern Europeans find them attractive, likely for cultural reasons more than genetic ones.
